A photo is a vision of what we know we're not. If I pass a picture of myself in a store window, I'll stand there and wonder why I am not like him. He seems to have this perfect world, living in that rectangle, shutting off the rest of society. He looks like me, but I know deep down inside he's a whole other person. I close my eyes, wanting to switch places with him, so I could live in his isolated world and he could live in mine, and finally learn what love is and how much it hurts.
